Tokubetsu ni Ikare ta Onnatachi / The Particularly Deranged Girls
特別にイカれた女たち

About

The Particularly Deranged Girls is a Japanese anime series set in 1995 in a large prefectural high school in rural Japan.

The series follows a group of six female students: Shion Kurogane, Riko Shigarami, Sora Higashiyama, Yume Murano, Momo Takada, and Reina Fujisawa

each dealing with severe and varying mental disorders,

who form an unlikely social group within a school too large and overwhelmed to address any of their individual needs.

The school itself, one of the few in the prefecture to survive Allied bombing campaigns during World War II,

serves as a recurring backdrop throughout the high school arc,

housing nearly 1,000 students drawn from multiple destroyed school districts.
